A tune up varies greatly from engine to engine. A complete can consist of plugs, cap and rotor, timing, impeller, oil change, and more. Most of the time when people request a tune up it is because the engine is running rough. That does not mean we need to do a complete tune up. We'll look at the fuel, plugs, battery connections, cap/rotor, etc. It is very important to have engine information (year, model, serial number, and problem) readily available when you call to schedule an appointment.
We do have parts on hand to sell over the counter for Mercury/Mecruiser, Suzuki and a limited selection of parts for Volvo Penta, Yamaha, Indmar, PCM, and Ilmor. Serial number is required before we can look up any parts. We do not give installation advice on parts sold over the counter. If you are uncertain about doing it yourself, I would highly recommend scheduling an appointment with the service department. All electrical or opened parts are non-returnable.
Yes! We do warranty work for any unit we have sold at Sodak's Marina. If you purchased your unit elsewhere we would suggest calling your servicing dealer first for any warranty repairs.
We only do lake calls for units we have sold at Sodak's Marina. In the occasion that your boat was just in the shop and having the same issue, we may make an exception. We always stand behind the work we provide and try to resolve the issue in the most effective way possible.
We do not have towing available. If you break down on the water, first call your servicing dealer, as they know your boat/engine best. Next, find a neighbor/friend who can tow you to load your boat on trailer. Try not to tow boat back to lift if at all possible. Repairs are always done more effectively and efficiently when the boat is at service shop.

There are several tools available online such as, NADA or Kelly Blue Book to assist you in finding the value of your boat. You can also check Craigslist or marketplace to check your areas market value.
If your boat was winterized at Sodak's Marina, we make it as simple as possible.
Yes! Sterndrives, inboards, and jet skis definitely need to be winterized. There is a lot of damage that can be done to the engine if not winterized properly. If you are unsure how to winterize yourself, I highly recommend taking it to a professional. It's an average of $5,000 if not winterized properly.
Outboards should also be winterized. The lake water can be very corrosive on the internal components. This is also a great time to get the oils changed to ensure all maintenance is up to date.
We do. Price depends on location, wiring, and mounting of transducer. However, we do not fix depth finders or Minn Kota troll motors. We install only.
We do not have fiberglass repair in our shop. We would recommend going to a body shop who is competent in gel coat/fiberglass repair.
We do not. If the straight piece broken, you could have a glass specialist fit and replace. If the curved portion broke you need to contact a dealer for your boat. Most companies do not have windshields for more than 7-10 years prior.
